Pure Magnesium Metal powder with a particle size of approximately 100 mesh. Magnesium is a chemical element; atomic number 12. Magnesium powder is used to prepare Grignard reagents, which are useful in organic synthesis, to remove Sulfur from Iron & Steel, and as a reducing agent for the production of pure Uranium metal. Magnesium powder mixed with an oxidizer produces Flash Powder, which was used as a source of illumination in the early days of photography. This is different from the Flash Powder used in fireworks, which uses a special form of extremely fine Aluminum powder (Dark or German Aluminum) in place of Magnesium powder.
